About Bella Coola, British Columbia

The small fishing and logging town of Bella Coola is home to 909 residents and is located in the Bella Coola Valley. The remote town of Bella Coola is located 450 Km west of Williams Lake via highway 20 and a series of roads snaking down through a network of inlets, as Bella Coola sits on the rugged edge of the western coast of BC. Bella Coola is accessible via road or the preferred and quicker route via ferry, the north-south ferry route which runs from the northwest tip of Vancouver Island at Port Hardy to Bella Coola. The development and extension of Highway 20 to Bella Coola, completed in 1953, allowed the town to prosper and enjoy more freedom.
