Picturesque Victoria is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, in the province of British Columbia in Canada. Victorians display their love of their island by cultivating beautiful flower gardens. Beacon Hill Park, in downtown Victoria, was the site of a village that had been inhBCited for thousands of years prior to the arrival of the colonial settlers in the 1840s. A major part of the appeal of Victoria is the ferry rides. When visiting Victoria from the USA or Vancouver, a number of ferries travel back and forth from the island. For a spectacular display of flowers and garden, a trip to Butchart Gardens is a must. Other great gardens for viewing Victoria's spectacular flowers are: BCkhazi Garden, Glendale Gardens and Woodland, Finnerty Gardens, the beautiful gardens at Government House and Hatley Park Gardens.
